Water sports in Gran Canaria: jet ski, parasailing and more

Southern Gran Canaria is a water-sports paradise: warm water, sheltered beaches and a huge choice of jet ski, parasailing and combos. Here's what to try and where, for all levels.

Updated 23 August 2026

With a warm sea almost all year and well-protected southern beaches, Gran Canaria has one of the biggest water-sports offerings in the Canaries. From the adrenaline of a jet ski to the calm flight of parasailing, there are plans for all ages and levels.

Parasailing: flying over the sea

Towed by a boat with a parachute, parasailing lifts you above the coast with views of the beaches of Taurito or Puerto de Mogán. It's calm, beginner-friendly and one of the most spectacular photos.

Jet ski: pure adrenaline

For those after speed, a jet ski races along the south coast with all the power up front. Guided trips from spots like Pasito Blanco, no experience needed.

Combos: try everything in a day

If you can't decide, activity combos bundle several into a single outing (jet ski, banana, paddle…), a fun and affordable way to try it all.

Tip: mornings usually have a calmer sea and fewer people. Use water-resistant, reef-safe sunscreen and always follow the instructor; many activities have a minimum age or height.

Parasailing, jet ski or a combo to try it all, southern Gran Canaria is pure sea. Book ahead in summer, when it's busiest, and pick the area (Taurito, Puerto Rico, Mogán) closest to you.
